Basic Manners & More — 6-Week Dog Training Class

Build a deeper bond, strengthen your relationship, and master real-life manners with your dog.
This fun and engaging 6-week class helps you teach essential skills through positive, science-based, force-free methods—no intimidation, no pain, no outdated techniques. Perfect for dogs and guardians who want calm, connection, and cooperation in everyday life. Small class size for individual attention!

What You’ll Learn

In each class, you’ll practice skills and games that boost your dog’s focus and confidence while strengthening your bond.
This program focuses on:

Reliable recall (“come”)
Training Cues for daily life
Confidence-boosting activities & enrichment
Focus-building games
Loose-leash basics
Real-world manners you can use anywhere

All training uses reward-based, force-free techniques backed by modern canine science and taught by a Certified Trainer and Certified Behavior Consultant with decades of experience.

Week 1 – Humans Only (No Dogs)

Week 1 is an informational orientation so you can learn, ask questions, and get set up for success.
Duration: 90 minutes

Class Requirements

To ensure a safe and supportive learning environment:

Dogs must be tolerant of other dogs on leash
This class is not intended for “aggressive” or “reactive” dogs
Puppies & adults welcome as long as they meet the above criteria

If your dog struggles with aggressive displays of behavior, reactivity or fear, contact me—I offer private behavior sessions designed specifically for those needs.

What to Bring Each Week

(Except Week 1 — humans only!)

6-foot standard leash (no flexi or retractable leashes)
Soft, smelly, mixed treats & treat pouch
A mat or small bed for relaxation exercises
Your dog’s favorite toy
Optional: stuffed Kong or chew for downtime

Family Participation

Children 8 and older are welcome to attend with a guardian.
Please note:

Children must remain supervised at all times
Many exercises are too advanced for children so parents should plan on assisting children or handling the dog for portions of the class

At no time will the instructor of this class or students be liable or responsible for the actions of myself, my dog, or any other person who accompanies me to class. I also understand that Carol's Canine Training may use for publicity, pictures of my dog or me for promotional purposes without liability or obligation to me. *My dog is current on vaccines as required above and I understand the fee for the class is non-refundable.

REFUNDS: Classes fees are non-refundable. Information and handouts will be provided for any classes missed.

REACTIVE/AGGRESSIVE DOGS: Classes are not designed for dogs that are aggressive or highly reactive to people or dogs. If your dog can not participate in the class environment, you will be offered an alternative solution like your money towards a private consultation. See refund policy.

*VACCINATION RECORDS: or your protection, it’s recommended that dogs and pups be current on Distemper, Bordetella (Kennel Cough) and Rabies (if adult) vaccinations and free of parasites to attend classes. This is a medical decision that should be discussed with your veterinarian. Please discuss vaccines recommendations with your veterinarian.*
